Right Turn for Yuma Veterans is a new program under the Child and Family Services, Inc. organization. Child & Family Services of Yuma, Inc. (CFS) is a non-profit agency that has provided quality outpatient counseling services to children and their families since 1979.

In 2014, Right Turn for Yuma Veterans was established to help reduce the homeless veteran population in Yuma County.

Right Turn for Yuma Veterans offers long-term, transitional housing in a group home setting for up to six veterans who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.  We provide our veterans with not just a roof over their heads, but the support system necessary to live independently within the community.  A clean, comfortable, and safe environment provides our residents with a reliable stepping-off point for their return to independence.

Our program focuses on the individual goals of each unique veteran. These goals include, but are not limited to:
Improving mental/physical health

– Financial independence

– Re-engagement with their family and community

– Obtaining military benefits

– Finding valuable employment/schooling

– Independent living

Right Turn for Yuma Veterans provides mental health counseling, case coordination, transportation, and life coaching.

Veterans are encouraged to volunteer and participate in community activities, seek to participate in healthy recreational activities and build beneficial friendships.

With our program, veterans identify and address the problems they must resolve to become independent and contributing members of society.
